I am looking to take exam in May '09. Looking for study partner(s). I already have study materials (flash cards, seminar DVDs, books, past exams...). Please reply or send private message.

I don't get to travel much these days...not working...have three little ones at home. But if you make it to the Boise area in the next few weeks (taking exam May 15) we can go over a few problems and disucss the exam if you like.

Hey! I live in the Boise area and I'm preparing for a career as an actuary. As I've looked for information on career prep or study groups, etc., I've begun to think I'm just about the only person in Boise preparing to be an actuary right now. Glad to see that's not so!

I'm not quite as far along as you in my exam prep, I'm studying for Exam P, but I won't be taking it until this fall. I probably can't be much help for you on this exam, but we should get in touch for future exams.

Stodd,
If you need study materials, let me know. I also have them for exam FM, which I plan on taking in December of this year.

Study materials would be awesome. Unfortunately I don't have the money to purchase anything right now. I'm currently studying from a rough draft manuscript of a probability for actuaries text that I found online for free.

I'm not sure how accurately or completely this manual will prepare you for the exam, but its treated me okay so far.

Here is the link:
http://syssci.atu.edu/math/faculty/finan/actuaries.html

On the bottom of the page are links to two PDF's, one for P/1 and one for FM/2.

If you've actually taken exam P before, when you get the manual can you please let me know if it looks like it covers everything on the exam?

Thanks!
