I guess you are forming an actuarial club for NJIT! I think that is a fantastic idea! What can I do to help?

Tell Afrousima (is that what she goes by?) to pop in; she and I discussed it last Thursday with Professor Lieb (he agreed to be faculty advisor).
Tuesday, I'm going to check out the process to get a recognized club, and start designing some fliers (you need at least 10 members to be recognized). I'm also preparing a general FAQ for members.

What does anybody have to say about a 42 year who wants to be an actuary. I am in college now and I am good inath. When I graduate in two semester from a local community college I will be up to precalculus.
I want to go to a four year school to get a degree in either math or actuarial science.
My main questions is:
Does anybody see hurdles that I will face and will I be able to get a job with a degree and being 45?
Your Honestly will be appriciated.
Thanks,
Edward J. Kelly

I can't speak to your particular position, and you may get more responses in another section of the board, but I -will- say that I currently work with a 36 yr old entry level (he started in January, and sits in the cube next to me). So, it -can- be done.
