Dear all,
I am an international student that is going to graduate in 1yr. For the past 8 months I have been going to a lot of inerviews but did not receive any offers.
The reason is mainly because employers prefer US Citizen.
What do you suggest that I could do to stand out among the crowd so that
employers will consider to hire an international student?
Thanks.

Try getting an internship in a US company during summer. If you make a good job, I think it increases your chances of getting a job with that company after you graduate. Also, try looking at other alternatives, not necessarily actuarial, but something somewhat relevant that would give you useful experience that you could later apply in an actuarial job.

I know that it is little bit difficult for the international students to get job. But there are lots of international students who are working as an entry level actuary. So don't get discouraged. Keep trying.
It might be easier for you to find an entry level job once you are close to graduate. So, right now, it may be better for you to look for a summer internship as was suggested in the previous post.
GOOD LUCK!

=) Thanks for the encouragement.
I didn't get any internship for this summer...
I guess I will have build up some X-factor so that I am well prepared for
my job search next semester.
;) Enjoy your summer.
