Has anyone taken the exam without reading the loss model book?
Is learning from actex or ASM study manual efficient enough to have a comprehensive understanding of the material?
anyone?
any reply would be appreciated, thanks.

I'm studying for it right now. I started late (trying to do 1-2 sections a day = 6 hours a day). It's pretty rough, but I get time at work, which is nice. Anyway, my work bought me the ASM and the Loss Models, and I haven't even touched the Loss Models except to check up on some errata. The ASM is more thorough, in my opinion because it is designed for the exam while Loss Models is just what the exam is based off of (see the difference? ) I haven't taken the exam yet, but so far the ASM questions touch on most everything you could ever see and then some. Also, there are original questions that the author made, and I find those most challenging.
So, get them both if you want, but if you need to choose one, go with ASM
