If the Indian Actuarial Society offers correspondence courses, contact them as to how to begin those.

If you're interested in one of the American societies, visit www.beanactuary.org and that will tell you what you need. In the US, qualification is based on exams. All you need to do is register for the exams and find a testing site that is convenient to you. There is also information on www.soa.org, if you search for it, on what kind of exemptions you can get.

If you're interested in the UK society, visit www.actuaries.org.uk for the Institute of Actuaries information. My understanding is that their structure is based on a combination of university work and examinations (I could be mistaken so look for yourself).
