Recommendations

Hi Everyone,

Do I have to have recommendation letters from my previous employers to find an entry level actuarial position? I do not mind background check, etc. However, I am afraid that if I ask for recommendations at my current job, I will end up with no job at all. Another scenario is that my life will become much more difficult if my employer knows about my plans to leave.

No, you just need to have passed an exam or two. They usually do not call and verify your work history/resume until after they've made you an offer. Good luck.
