i had a phone screening interview with mercer in norwalk, CT and i was wanting to know what you could expect or give as a reasonable number as far as salary is concerned. i am married with 3 children have Exam P passed and am waiting for exam FM results. i currently live in san antonio tx and i need to know what i would need to be able to make in order to make this move to the northeast or not.

i also failed to mention that i have 0 yrs experience and that i have been a math teacher for 6yrs. so i would be looking for numbers at the entry level.

also, just for informational purposes for the move, a favorite website of mine is http://www.bestplaces.net you can do comparisons between cities like the cost of living: for example $50000 in columbus, ga is equivalent to $54000 in atlanta, ga

If you're in San Antonio, don't forget to apply at USAA, they have a great actuarial program. Good luck.

www.dwsimpson.com has a salary survey that is broken down by area of practice, # of exams, and years of experience.
