hi
guys im a student in macquarie uni in Australia and i just wanted to ask you how important are your marks/gpa when applying for an actuarial position ?, you see in australia we dont do the exams rather we study a unit concerning the exam ( need atleast a credit to get that exemption). however i have a huge problem with my gpa. during the transition from high school to uni, i didnt do very well and as a result i ended up getting really poor marks and thus a really terrible gpa, howver during 2nd yr/3rd yr i have done very good i.e. high credit/low ditinction average, BUT since my 1st yr results were poor my OVERALL gpa is very bad !! it is 2.5 ( on a scale of 1-4), so how would i go on approaching this, so i can get a job in the future, do extracirular activities etc ??
