I'm considering a career change, and becoming an actuary seems like it could be a good idea for me.
I'm living in Melbourne, current working full time in engineering (a job which involves a variety of work such as computer programming, project planning, field work and data analysis).
There's no way I'm quitting my job to study (for example) 2 years full time at Melb uni for the Actuary postgrad course. Nobody is offering the course offline that I know of.
What if I passed all the part 1 exams, which you can study for at home, and then applied for jobs? Would that count for anything, or would I be wasting my time?
Appreciate any thoughts, cheers everyone.
