Looking for a study group in the Atlanta area for Exam P/1 (February 2007).

A writes to B and does not receive an answer. Assuming that one letter in n is lost in the mail, find the chance that B recieved the letter. It is to be assumed that B would have answered the letter if he had recieved it.

Does any one how to do the following question?

The Moment of 5 has a variation of 20. The Moment of 10 has a variation of 30. Find E(x).

This problem has been on the exam twice and I can't figure out how to do it.

I take my exam 05/17 so a quick aws would be very appreciated. Someone has already responded to this question back in March but I can't figure out how to retrieve it:(
