FSA, 30+ years as an actuary, I've worked for large, medium, & small, stock & mutual & consulting & state regulation, mainly life, some health. I'm always learning, but now have a lot of experience to share as well.:)

Great thanks for joining. Since you've worked in so many places, do you have a favorite type of job (did you like consulting better than government, large better than small, etc.?)?

Current job is sole life & health actuary, like in-house consulting, which I love. No direct reports, but there are advantages: I don't have to track attendance, do performance reviews, or recruit people. Sorry, no internships.
I like home office life best, generally, because of freedom, progress, opportunity w/security. Consulting means solving everybody else's problems, but nobody has to listen, and building client base is hard. Government has too much politics (but I'm used to it); poor place to pass exams (but I'm past that point now).

hi..can u tell me which is the best institute in india to study actuarial science thru correspondence??or is it more beneficial to study the course from a foreign institute.am doin my final year.gotta decide the institute for my pg.kinda urgent.can u help me??
