Hello,
Are there any actuaries over here in this forum who have an associate-ship with the SOA/CAS/IOA but have not graduated with a mathematical background?.Does it matter if you can pass 4 exams but have low math marks in your undergrad, without graduating from a top-tier uni.( I am completely aware of the math actuaries use!!)
I've got slightly above average math grades in school, however my undergrad marks are seriously low(35%).I know my chances are quite slim, but can anyone tell me how slim are they?Employers look out only for people with good grades in math throughout or is there more weightage on no. of exams passed? Because of this i was thinking of a way of proving that I am good at math, would a GRE help?
Right now I'm doing a degree course in banking & insurance.I have subjects such as quantitative methods 1&2(topics like regression analysis, stat applications in finance and investment,probability,calculus1,2 &3 and its applications in finance),economics(macro & micro),cost a/c in banking and insurance, auditing, financial reporting & analysis...etc
So is it possible to get an entry level.. ?
