TRENTON — Drivers without college degrees or better-paying jobs pay more for car insurance from GEICO, according to a study released by an advocacy group today in advance of debate on a bill that might ban such an actuarial application.

Credit scoring is sound underwriting based upon the best of actuarial practice. It is color-blind, money-blind, and gender-blind. People who don't pay their bills also tend to be careless with their other property, e.g., cars.
