I could've made two seperate topics, but I thought it wasn't a big deal.

Who here thinks that Adrian Peterson (Runningback for the MN Vikings) will break the single season rushing record this year. He's on pace right now to have a chance.

Also, does anyone know of any professions in the sports field that someone with an actuarial or accounting degree would be hired in?

Thanks, and feel free to discuss about any other topics

Can Peterson break the single-season record? The Vikings remaining schedule ...

Sun 11/11 at Green Bay (8th in rushing defense)
Sun 11/18 Oakland (30th)
Sun 11/25 at NY Giants (11th)
Sun 12/2 Detroit (12th)
Sun 12/9 at San Francisco (24th)
Mon 12/17 Chicago (26th)
Sun 12/23 Washington (9th)
Sun 12/30 at Denver (32nd)

The staggering thing about him so far is that he's averaging 6.56 yards per carry - and when you throw out the first 3 games [64 carries, 271 yards] it jumps to an incredible 8.14 yards per carry. He had 112 yards vs. Green Bay, but that was indoors; he ran for 224 vs. Chicago at Soldier Field, and 66 against Detroit. He may not get 112 this week and he may not duplicate that 224 vs. Chicago, but but even if he runs for only what each team remaining on the schedule has allowed to date, he still picks up 963 yards - putting him just shy of 2,000.

The rookie record is certainly within reach [he needs fewer than 800 yards to get it], the all-time record is about 1100 yards away. He should break Dickerson's rookie mark, he'll still need 2 big games to make a serious threat at the all-time single-season mark.

.Godspeed.
