Will the Patriots win their last three?

Irish Blues
December 11th 2007, 12:26 PM
Yes - unless someone [read: the Jets or Dolphins] decides to go after Brady or some of the other starters.

I still think someone takes the Pats out in the playoffs, though. Everyone will be going in with the, "hey - we're supposed to lose, so what if we go all out?" mentality and punish the Pats at every opportunity - and I think it takes its toll.

Are they playing Indiana State?

No? Then ....... no. In fact, their game against New England should probably get rated 'R' to save kids from having to be exposed to the horror that will be that game.

'''. That is hillarious. Actually I will take the dolphins with the points in this bet. Brady will be pulled by the 2nd quarter along with Moss. We've seen how well Cassel has played as the backup. I will agree that it could be brutal. Nice to know what the point spread will be. Anyone know the largest point spread in a game? This could be a close one to the records I'm guessing.

On Dec. 5, 1976, the expansion Tampa Bay Buccaneers were 24-point underdogs to the defending Super Bowl champion Pittsburgh Steelers. The Steelers covered easily, winning 42-0.(espn.com)

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3120882

If this point spread holds up, it will be the largest in history for a non-expansion team.

i don't see the patriots losing this season, or in the playoffs. and i don't see the dolphins winning this season either.

Two chances left. The Dolphins will be attempting a first this season: attain a win streak.

I have to say, I'm surprised the Dolphins won - which underscores just how bad the Ravens are this year. Now the question is whether Brian Billick takes the fall with the Ravens having lost 8 straight, or whether management realizes just how bad the team is and that they were incredibly lucky to get out to a 4-2 start.

[Note: if the Ravens pull out a win this Sunday at Seattle, they'll have swept the NFC West. Insert your own joke about how bad the NFC West is here.]

Now what do you have to say with the Ravens being so close to beating the Patriots? Fluke? Jets gave the Patriots a scare I think. Also the West is bad all in general. AFC West is pitiful. I am a Chiefs fan though. We are on pace to not win 6 games, a first since 1988. The only other team not to win at least six games every season is the Steelers who also didn't win 6 games in 1988. Kind of remarkable. Interesting fact. 75% of the teams have had seasons where they have won 5 or less games in a season during the 2000's.

i could be wrong...but didn't the owner say that Billick was coming back? (this was before the loss to the dolphins, of course)

The Eagles were also close to beating the Patriots. I wouldn't call the Eagles good, either - so "fluke" is probably the better bet.

Jets gave the Patriots a scare I think.
Not really ... ''''py weather, the Jets were as close as 10-7 and that's it - but never really in a position where they were poised to take the lead and the momentum in the game. The Jets didn't put a scare in the Patriots.

That's exactly it. We'll find out in the offseason who holds more sway on the team - Billick or Ray Lewis. Either way, the Ravens aren't going anywhere unless they dramatically upgrade the offense b/c it's downright pitiful. Sure, Jonathan Ogden has been out much of the year and that's a huge blow to the O-line, but they still went in hoping Steve McNair could tap the Fountain of Youth. He's gassed, and Kyle Boller isn't going to get them much farther unless he takes a quantum leap in his development [and time's running out on that]. They need a solid QB and at least two good receivers [Derrick Mason will be 34 next year, Father Time is ticking on him as well].

What an impressive accomplishment. This may be the only time we see this in our lifetimes. Now let's see if they can win three more (I really hope they finish 17-1 . . . Go Indy!).

Who got the ball? Randy or Brady? I'm talking about when Moss broke the single season record for touchdowns in a season and on that same play Brady broke the season record for passing touchdowns. I saw Moss tossed it to the sideline but haven't heard anything about it.

Who got the ball? Randy or Brady? Not certain.

Also, I didn't pay close attention to the game, but when I began "watching," I think the score was 28-16, in favor of the "G-MEN" (note the reference?). What happened?

And the poll should be closed.

Apparently, he changed his mind (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20071231/ap_on_sp_fo_ne/fbn_ravens_billick_fired) - because Billick is taking the fall for this season.

OWINGS MILLS, Md. - Brian Billick was fired as coach of the Baltimore Ravens on Monday, less than a day after his team concluded a disappointing 5-11 season.
And reading the comments of some of the players, they're not exactly shedding tears about it.

I'm not sure how you close the poll. Can you please explainI was somewhat joking in that I don't think you can manually close the poll. I thought that after a certain amount of time, the poll eventually closed.

So, now that the Patriots have finished, will they go all the way? You must answer now since the results of tomorrow could affect your decision. I really hope that the Colts will first win their first game and then down the Patriots at Foxboro. The Patriots are vulnerable, and I believe the Colts can beat them. Can the Colts [win their first playoff game and] beat them at Foxboro? That is the million-dollar question.

yea the colts can win. will they? i just don't see it happening at Foxboro. belichick knows what they did wrong against the colts last year in the AFC game, and i doubt they will make the same mistakes again.

The same could be said for Dungy after this year's game. Assuming San Diego wins against Tennessee [I think they will], New England will get the winner of Pittsburgh-Jacksonville [Steelers currently up 29-28, late in the 4th, under a minute left, Jaguars with the ball inside the 3 and will kick a FG to take the lead].

They'll have to get through that game first, and whoever wins this will probably give the Patriots '''' next weekend.

Oh dear God, no. If it happens, I'd lock myself in the basement and unplug the TV and anything else that that might mention it from after the championship games ended until years after - and that's not even bringing up how Archie Manning would get mentioned 137,400,003 times in the 2 weeks between the conference championships and the Super Bowl.

It would probably be the best game since GB has already played SD this year. and the Giants have played NE already. I don't think the Giants vs SD would be much fun to watch. GB vs NE would be a high scoring game which everyone loves to watch.

With a healthy SD team, they probably could have had a shot at beating the Pats. I mean you take the best RB in the NFL and put him on the sidelines, it will hinder your performance.
