I just finished studying the poisson process. How hard/easy is it compared to
some of the other material in M?
Depending on how they word the question, poisson process can be anywhere from a piece of cake to a ''''' of a problem. I guess that makes it about the same compared to the other problems.

This way you will see how hard it gets. I organized my life contingencies manual in that fasion: review of material, and then exercises, exercises, exercises, and then practice exams. This is the way all of my manuals (P, FM, and LifeCon) are, because I believe in this approach.
Generally, people do not complain the most about the Poisson process, most complain the most about life contingencies.
