Talking Possible career changer in Austin Tx

    So- I am murloc?

    Mini life story:
Basically I'm 24, and somehow after graduating from college managed to continue in what was supposed to be my part time job during school, instead of finding something to do with translating between English and Japanese. I like video games, hiking and kayaking and have an incurable desire to plan everything out in little tables. MS Excel addict is too strong, but not far off. >.>

I am on these forums because while I love my company and they treat me well, I will go insane if I have to spend another two years in the same repetitive, brainless position I am presently. I've spent some time looking around, and becoming an actuary looks pretty good to me. Fortunately, any classes or certifications I go after will be covered by my company (I did say they treated me well), so I am looking for confirmation on this being what I want, and direction on how to go about getting it in an orderly fashion.

If you are in Austin, TX specifically, drop me a line. I would be more than happy to meet publicly with folks who know more about the business or just want someone to oggle at their exam studies while they trudge through it. Worst that could happen would be a free coffee and a wasted hour.

One day of laziness leads to a lifetime of emptiness- :coolman:
