    Completely agree. The quickest way to learn is to open an account and start doing it - your attention will quickly notice many of the nuances when your own $$$ is moving around. It's okay to make mistakes, since the goal is to learn. There are plenty of books that teach sound long-term fundamental approaches and risky short-term technical approaches, and it's good to know all these basics and then decide what's best for your goals, temperament, and risk tolerance.
