    hiring process

I talked to a representative from geico about actuarial opportunities. I told her I have two exams passed. she said I have to take an exam from geico and go through 3 interviews. I was wondering if this is the case with other companies out there. she also told me that I should not even bother with actuary unless I am very very serious.

I've never heard of anyone having to take a special exam and go through 3 interviews. The companies that I've talked to all have 2 rounds of interviews (phone and on-site). Also these days you should be very very serious about any career you want to pursue not just actuary.

This exam they are referring to may be something like the Caliper test that just tests your personality and reasoning skills. I think thats pretty standard nowadays.
