What are you looking for in said interview?
I can try and help, but I'd like to echo crayola's question.Originally Posted by crayolaab
I'll refine the question a little further:
1) For what purpose are you interviewing? Just for more information for you? Practicing for an official interview with a firm coming up? A class report/study?
2) What kind of information are you looking for? There's many aspects to the profession, and depending on what you're looking for, there may be many people able to answer, or there may only be a select few. If you're wondering about the exams and what the first few years on the job are like, there are a few here that can give you input, while if you're wondering if the job is all it's cracked up to be after your credentials (no more exams), there's probably only a handful of posters (myself excluded) that could answer that for you. If it's a salary question, here is a good resource.
3) If you need it to be in person, I'd imagine that might limit many people and might make things a little harder. Just my $0.02.
I am thinking about changing careers and I'd like to get some info from a real person. I'd prefer someone that has an established career in actuarial science and whose answers would be fairly representative of the average.
I have condensed it down to 10 questions that cover the basics (typical workday, likes, dislikes, quirks, etc.) If interested, I can email it to you in Word format and you can complete it at your convenience.
I'm happy to answer the questions for you if you're interested in thoughts from someone who's been in the industry for all of two monthscrayolaab at gmail dot com
Not sure I can really help, but thought I'd offer anyway!
Why not post the questions here so everyone can benefit from the answers?
