    Basic Question

I've read the SOA stuff, and it isn't explicitly clear, so I'll ask this: Since M is now MLC and MFE, and SOA states you don't have to take both in one sitting, this means that, for example, you can pass MLC in May and MFE in the November and have credit for M. In other words, M is basically treated as two separate exams. Right?

Yes. By the way, MLC+MFE also gives you the credit of CAS Exam 3, but not conversely.
