    Hi, How are you?

My name is Blake, and I am a secondary mathematics teacher looking for a career change. I am currently studying for my 1/P and 2/FM exams in May. Hopefully, I will have a rewarding career as an actuary soon.

    intro and question

    :wideyed: Hi Everybody,

I am currently working the accounting field but I am about to start studying for my first acturial exam. I wanted to know if the CAS and SOA exams are the same. Are the first several exams the same until a certain point?

Why are you switching from the accounting field? It seems like there are lots of jobs out there that require accounting degrees when I look at the internet job boards. My mom keeps telling me I should have gotten an accounting degree instead of a math degree.

I didnt do accounting. I actually have an Applied Mathematics and Statistics degree. I want a career that will involve more problem solving. Being an actuary would be beneficial in this aspect.
