    How long

I'm finally getting around to sitting for the P exam and registered over three weeks ago for the May exam. I still haven't recieved my admittance number and was wondering how long it takes to get this in the mail so I can schedule my test day and time. Why does it take so long?

    Three weeks? long?

Do you realize it takes them SIX weeks to grade computerized multiple choice exams? (The processing time of which might take 2.3 seconds total)

    Welcome to the SOA!

So is 6 to 8 weeks a more realistic time line? :skeptical:
This is my first official dealings with SOA.

No I didn't realize it takes SIX weeks since I've never taken an exam before. I did figure out that a lot of time did pass between taking the exam and getting results; but silly me, how long should it take for a credit card payment (which, by the way, was charged within days of applying) to clear (or what ever else they do with it) and sending out an admittance ticket?

I sent a check and I think it took about a week, two at the tops. You may want to contact somebody to see what the hold up is?

Thank you Mighty for answering my question. I am going to contact them. I can understand the wait time while a check clears, but with a credit card that's already been charged I don't see why the hold up.

Your welcome. I think either something must have gone wrong or they have gotten slower for some reason.

Usually it takes some time for them to register you. They won't do it until this february exam is over. Only after everybody takes this exam can they start signing people up for the next seating.

SOA says they will be sending an e-mail and letter with candidate/eligibilty number the first week of March. Now I know.

I guess I registered toward the end of registration, so it was probably quicker then, since they weren't administering the previous exam and didn't have to wait for the exam to be done.
