I am using a BA-35 solar and I am having trouble using it to calculate annunities. I have been using the calculator help on the SOA website and I can get the answers that they post for problems but my answers for questions in my review book are not correct.
For example, Compute the PV of an annuity-immediate of $100 per annum for 15 years at 4% effective. Answer 1111.84
I type:
100 PMT 15 N 4 %i CPT PV
I get 1418.65
Also,
Find the PV of an annuity-immediate of $50 every 6 months for 10 years at a nominal rate of interest of 4% per annum compounded semiannually. Answer:817.57
I type:
50 PMT 20 N 2 %i CPT PV
I get 1188.43
Also,
If $100 is deposited at the end of each year for 5 years at 5% effective, how much is in the account on the date of the last deposit? Answer: 552.56
I type:
100 PMT 5 N 5 %i CPT FV
I get 680.19
Any idea what I am doing wrong?!?!
Thanks!
