Entry Level opportunities in Tampa Bay, FL?

    Hello.

I am a college student and I live in the Tampa Bay area in Florida. I was wondering if anyone can give me some advice about finding actuarial internships or opportunities in the Tampa Bay area. I have been calling around insurance companies in the area and most are saying that they only employ actuaries at their headquarters offices. I am trying to stay within the area, but I'm beginning to think my options may be few here. Any help would be great.

    Thank you,

    Valoree

Have you passed any actuarial exams? Do you have a current resume? Have you talked to a recruiter (above)?

You could search the directory: https://www.actuarialdirectory.org/solutionsite/default.aspx?tabid=123#_ctl0__ctl0__ctl0_tbl Limit it to FSA (or FCAS), maybe consultants and insurance organizations. Try entering the first 3 digits of the zip code, rather than all of FL.

I know that Aegon has actuaries in St. Petersburg, right across the bridge. Check out
