    Use ASM manual for 3L

Hi everyone. I have recently decided to go down the CAS track (really liked P&C during my internship), so I'm taking 3L instead of MLC in Nov. However, the problem is that I have already purchased the MLC manual. Does anyone know if it is feasible to just use the MLC manual to study for 3L? If so, is there a list of topics that I should avoid, since MLC is considerably more difficult than 3L mathematically?

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

    Skip lessons 9, 15, 20, 26, 32, 38, 39, 42, 44, 45-47. Also skip Balducci in lesson 8.

In general give less emphasis to life contingencies, especially involving interest. They ask about 11 questions on life contingencies, with 4-5 on survival probabilities.

The MLC manual does not have statistics, which is 9 questions on the exam. ASM does not offer a statistics manual separately, but some competitors do.

I think Sam Broverman offers a supplement that covers the stats material on 3L, and does a very good job of it. Also some of the more boring Life Con stuff like the more advanced topics on benefit reserves, contingent joint survival functions, Hyperbolic and exponential interpolation don't appear on 3L. Thank G-D for small favors.

ASM now offers the Statistics part of the 3L manual as a separate manual.
