David Farber, A.S.A., E.A., M.S.P.A
An actuary (Associate of the Society of Actuaries and an Enrolled Actuary) and educator who focuses on education in the retirement plan area . He has taught review courses for students studying to pass the Enrolled Actuary exams since 1983, and numerous courses geared towards retirement administrators and consultants since the early 1980s.

Rick Gorvett, F.C.A.S., A.S.A., M.A.A.A, CERA, ARM, FRM, Ph.D
Director of the actuarial science program, and the State Farm Foundation Scholar in Actuarial Science at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Teaches and does research in the areas of actuarial science, financial risk management and enterprise risk management, and has a Ph.D. in finance. Prior to entering academia, worked in these areas for several insurers and consulting firms.


Dr. Krzysztof Ostaszewski, Ph.D., F.S.A., FSAS, CFA, CERA, M.A.A.A.
Actuarial Program Director at Illinois State University, a Center of Actuarial Excellence. Dr. Ostaszewski is also the Director for Life and Pensions Research at the Geneva Association, International Association for the Study of Risk and Insurance Economics. He has taught actuarial science at Illinois State University, New England Actuarial Seminars, University of Louisville, University of Ulm, Washington University in St. Louis, EM Lyon, and Technical University of Lodz in Poland. He has also taught Summer Actuarial School in Poland, and Actex Professional Development Seminars. Dr. Ostaszewski has published four research monographs in actuarial mathematics, two in mathematics, was a Fulbright Research Fellow and a Fulbright Senior Specialist, and has published widely, including journals such as Proceedings of the American Mathematical Society, American Economic Review, North American Actuarial Journal, and many others. For his research work, he was the recipient of the prestigious Mehr Award of the American Risk and Insurance Association in 2005, and the Hardigree Award of the Western Risk and Insurance Association in 2003.

Abraham Weishaus, Ph.D., F.S.A., CFA, M.A.A.A.
Formerly financial reporting actuary for Guardian Life Insurance Company. Served on the SOA’s Education and Examination Committee for 11 years. Taught exam preparation courses for the Actuarial Society of Greater New York (ASNY) for 15 years and for CAMAR for 6 years. Currently teaches exam preparation courses at St. John's University.
