2013 Spring Meeting
The Annual Meeting of the Southeastern Actuaries Conference will be held June 19-21, 2013 at
The Ponte Vedra Inn and Club, FL.
This is a great opportunity to earn continuing education credits, to reconnect with your fellow SEAC members and to make new connections with other actuaries.Meeting Registration
Registration is now open on our website, and we strongly encourage you to click here to register on-line. You may also print the form from the website, scan, and email it to Jeff Williams or mail to Jeff Williams, 411 Cartgate Circle, Blythewood, SC 29016. Please note: if you want your name to show up on the attendance list, please register no later than May 31, 2013.
If you are a Member of the SEAC or a program participant, there is no registration fee for you or your guests.
If you are attending the meeting as a dues-paying Friend of the SEAC, the registration fee is $150 with an additional fee of $50 for guests. If you are not a Member, Friend or program participant, the registration fee is $300 with an additional fee of $50 for guests.
Preferred method of payment is PayPal (a link to PayPal will appear when you submit your registration form), but you can pay via check if necessary. Checks should be made payable to "Southeastern Actuaries Conference" and mailed to: Jeff Williams, 411 Cartgate Circle, Blythewood, SC 29016.
Meeting Program
The meeting has a variety of topics of interest to our members. There is something for everyone. Please review the program posted here.
Simultaneous workshops are planned on Friday, as set forth in the program. Please indicate your choice or none on your registration form to help us in optimizing meeting space.
If you wish to attend the Wednesday pre-meeting seminar, please indicate your choice in the appropriate section of your registration form.
Finally, please let us know how many guests including children will attend the Thursday evening reception to help us plan food and beverage.
Room Reservations
Hotel reservations may be made by calling Ponte Vedra Inn and Club at 800-234-7842 or 888-839-9145 and referencing SEAC. The negotiated rates are: Preferred Room (oceanside) - $229 per night and Golfview $199 per night. A resort fee of $15 single/$18 double occupancy per night will be added on a nightly basis to cover use of onsite amenities including in room internet access. Valet and Self Parking are covered in the resort fee. The group rate is offered 3 days before and after the conference based on availability. The first night's room rate will be charged at the time of the reservationPlease Note: The cut-off date for reservations at our group rate is May 29, 2013. Rooms are limited, so reserve early, especially if you plan to arrive before or stay after the meeting. Also note that either a credit card guarantee or an advance deposit of one night's room and tax will be taken at the time of reservation. Reservations can be canceled up to 72 hours prior to arrival without penalty.
The SEAC reserves a block of rooms at a negotiated lower rate and this allows us to use the hotel meeting facilities for free, keeping our costs down. We strongly urge all meeting attendees to take advantage of the group rate and stay at the official meeting hotel. This will help us continue to offer quality continuing education at reasonable rates at high quality meeting sites. Please be sure to indicate that you are with the SEAC when you call.
Meeting Packets
For those who have pre-registered, meeting packets will be available at the SEAC registration desk from 1:45 pm to 5:30 pm on Wednesday and from 7:00 am to 7:50 am on Thursday. Presentation slides will be posted to the website as received, and we encourage you to download them prior to leaving for the meeting.
Buffet Breakfast
Breakfast will be available both Thursday and Friday mornings. Breakfast will be served in the Ponte Vedra Ballroom Two from 7:30 - 8:30 in the morning.
Reception
The General Reception will be held on Thursday from 6:30 to 7:45 pm. Light hors d’oeuvres and assorted beverages will be served at no charge to registered meeting attendees and their guests. There may also be other sponsored receptions -- see program for details.
Dress
Business casual is preferred during the meeting sessions and the reception.
Golf Resort Rates
Golfing rates offered the SEAC are $140 to play the Ocean Course and $90 for the Lagoon Course. Information on the courses can be found on the Resort website
Spa Services
The Ponte Vedra Inn and Club extends a 10% discount to the SEAC on Spa Services
