Hi,
I have one question - In asurvey of customer satisfaction,participants are asked to give a score of 1,2,3,or 4 to each of 6 questions.If participants are instructed not to give the same numerical score to more than 4 questions,how many responses are possible?
Answer is 4020.

Is this a practice exam question? If so, where are you getting the problem from?

First of all, get the total possible results for 6 questions with 4 answers, which is 4*4*4*4*4*4, and then get the number of reponses for 6 questions with the same answer, which is 4, and last, get the number of responses for 5questions with the same answer, which is 4*6*3. And then, use the 4*4*4*4*4*4 minus 4 and 4*6*3. By the way, where did you get this question?
