When I apply a job from company's website, they are asking my social security number and it is a required entry. Is it normal?? Does it safe to give my SSN to the company?

thank you

Iíve thought about the same thing. Youíll know when you turn 62 and checks arenít arriving at your house.

They most likely need it to do a background check and/or confirm that you are a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.

They need it for background checks which I believe you usually give them consent to do.
