Is there anyone or a service out there that will check your resume online to see if it is adequate to send to an employer. I dont want to get rejected from a company because my resume ''''' so I rather it be checked first.

If there are any links anyone knows about could you please enlighten me?

Thank you.

I have found that the best place for this advice is the Career Services Department at your college/university.

The problem is i went to uni in England and the way CV's are done there are much different to the way resumes are done in America. Do youd use covering letters also?

If you're applying for a posted job, you should be prepared to have a cover letter.

If you're posting a resume as part of the process of creating a profile on a web site like careerbuilder or monster, the HR site for a particular company, you probably won't need one yet.

I usually start by googling. If you google 'actuarial resume' you'll find a few sample resumes, and several individuals' resumes. I also found some general information: http://www.stewartsearch.com/careerreso_detail.cfm?ID=45 and
