The passing candidate numbers for the joint exams are the same for the SOA and CAS, right? If so, couldn't we just get our results earlier from the CAS website?

The 3 - 3:30PM time frame for the CAS exams usually applies only to the CAS-only exams. For the joint exams, they usually follow the SOA's timeline of releasing results.

For reference, for the November 2004 results, the CAS ended up posting a link to the SOA website rather than actually posting the passing candidate numbers.

If you took the CAS-only exam, you can't. They only give you a score if you failed. The SOA mails out scores the same day they release results.
