    Taking exams out of order?

A coworker of mine has been studying for a financial exam. I forget exactly what it is, but the material seems to closely resemble the material for Exam 2. We were talking about it and he is interested in taking some actuarial exams as well. In general, is it possible to take the exams out of order? I know I've heard of people taking 1 and 2 at the same time, but what about taking 2 before 1? It would seem to make sense for him to take 2 now, while the material is fresh in his mind, and then take 1 in the next sitting. Do you know if thats possible?

I would recommend taking 2 before 1 in this case. You do not have to take the exams in order. However, I would recommend getting the first two done before completing the other preliminary exams.

I cleared my Exam2 before Exam1 & didn't face any difficulty. In my opinion you can take first two in any order.

There's really no order for the exams (for SOA at least). That is why they now call it P and FM instead of 1 and 2.
