Acturial Outpost vs. Actuary.com

What are peoples feelings towards Acturial Outpost and Actuary.com. Is one more popular than the other? Has one been around longer? Do the two sites battle it out or do they coexist peacefully? Do they serve different purposes? Any other insights would be greatly appreciated.

AO used to be RF (hence why there's a Reef subforum) back in the days of Traci and Glenn. I wager it's older than actuary.com. I believe even before that there was the CAS water cooler or what have you, that might have been what started all this.

Now as far as differences, I would guesstimate that AO is more popular and just based on the posts that I read on both, actuary.com caters more to the foreign/exchange students whereas AO is more for US/Canadian.

Actuary.com was registered to its current owner in 1995. The forums were much more crude (technology at the time).

I think the first actuarial forum was on Compuserve, Actuaries Online. Even more of a desert than the desert. I remember the days when my company had one Compuserve account on a dialup machine that we used to check our exam results. Ouch.
