Hi Everyone. If anyone of you knows about the LOMA Exams, would it be advisable to take those exams as well alongside the actuarial exams? Do you guys take this exams as well? Thanks.

I took some LOMA exams early because of company bonuses. Although it helped me understand insurance better, it interfered with study for actuarial exams. I finished them after FSA as simple continuing education - 3 LOMA exams at a time was pretty easy.
I thought this WAS a real job

Are you sure you're going to work in life insurance? If you end up going a different route such as P&C, the time spent on the LOMAs would be kind of wasted.

Are you sure this is only for Life?

Hi. Thanks for all your input. I think most of the topics are for Life Insurance but I believe there are general topics that is helpful to insurance in general. They say these exams are very easy and so I'm thinking if your companies require you to take these exams for better understanding of the terms and operations of an insurance company. I think I'll just take a few for the mean time and prioritize actuarial exams. Thanks again guys.
