Career Changing: Internship or straight to full-time?

I currently work as an engineer and have been looking to get a start in actuarial science. Now that I have passed one exam I have been browsing job sites from time to time, though I plan to wait till I have two passed to really start searching seriously.

My question is this: I see a lot of postings that ask for a certain number of exams, plus preferably an internship or two. Would it be beneficial for someone like myself to try and land an internship first? Or are those more or less reserved for people that are still attending college? It seems like having one would include me for consideration in a lot more job openings, but perhaps it is a moot point after graduation.

    TIA

If you get an internship, you still have to get a full-time job when that's done. Alternatively, prep yourself and get the full-time job and never worry about the internship.

    Personally, I'd take the latter.
