Finding smaller insurance companies

In finding companies to apply for, its easy to look up the big insurance companies. Everyone knows about Allstate, State Farm, etc.

My question is how can I find smaller insurance companies. Specifically, I want find a job in Omaha, NE. I have heard that Omaha has a lot of insurance companies, but I don't know how to find them. Mutual of Omaha is the only one that was easy to find. I tried using google but I just get a mess of irrelevant material. How would I find smaller insurance companies in Omaha?

If I want to find a job in Omaha then its kind of risky to only apply to one company (Mutual of Omaha).

I wanted to stay in Southern Illinois ... and I'm in Massachusetts.

Realize that when you restrict where you're willing to go, you (in some cases, dramatically) reduce the number of opportunities you have to find a job in this field. Besides, there's no rule that says you can't go off, get a job and get experience, and then come back to where you want to be. I've seen several people in my field leave to go back home after a few years with the company. It happens; it happens all the time.
