    Well,

    1. There are 2 actuarial institutes in U.K. -
    * Faculty of Actuaries, Scotland (Edinburgh, I think) &
    * Institute of Actuaries, England (London)

    http://www.actuaries.org.uk/

    2. Throughout the commonwealth countries, the different actuarial have modeled their syllabus and exam systems to mimic those of the U.K. societies.

Just the way that Canadian and the U.S. actuarial societies' exam systems look similar, so do that of U.K., Australia, South Africa, Hong Kong, India etc.....

    3. The exam pattern for the U.K society is as follows -

CT Series (8 Papers) + 1 business awareness module

    CT1 - Financial Mathematics
    CT2 - Finance & Financial Reporting
CT3 - Probability and Mathematical Statistics
    CT4 - Models
CT5 - General Insurance, Life and Health Contingencies
    CT6 - Statistical Methods
    CT7 - Economics
    CT8 - Financial Economics
    CT9 - Business awareness module

CA Series [3 Papers (one is sub-divided in two papers)]

    CA1 - Core Applications Concepts
    CA11- Paper on Assets
CA12 - Paper on Liabilities and Asset-Liability Management

    CA2 Modeling

    CA3 Communications

ST Series (2 out of 6 Papers) -Specialist Technical Stage (ST)

    ST1 - Health and Care
    ST2 - Life Insurance
    ST3 - General Insurance
ST4 - Pension and Other Employee Benefits
    ST5- Finance and Investment A
    ST6- Finance and Investment B

SA Series (1 out of 6 Papers) -Specialist Application Stage (SA)

    SA1 - Health and Care
    SA2 - Life Insurance
    SA3 - General Insurance
SA4 - Pension and Other Employee Benefits
    SA5 - Finance
    SA6 - Investment

    Hi there

I was looking at the exemptions mapping for the SOA/CAS education system to the Institute Exams. Do you think that with the addition of the Financial Economics component to exam FM, it will now be possible to get an exemption for Exam 8 with the institute?
