I have just finished my A-level (foundation) course this May, and took the 1P yesterday. Failed

The reference books that I use are:
    1. The First Course in Probability (Sheldon Ross)
    2. Probability and Statistical Inference (Hogg and Tanis)

SOA 123 useless? Erm... I think it helps much. By doing the exercises of SOA 123 I managed to understand the style of question that will come out in the real exam. It is quite similiar to the actual exam, but, the actual one is deeper in difficulty.

Have you sit for the 1P exam? I plan to resit in this August. Are you ready for it? :smiloe:

    Red face Hmmm

I think it is still early for us to sit for it.
I took ady but failed as well.

In a short period like this,it is hard to be well prepare and re-sit.
So I plan to take a longer time for it mayb sit in Nov,after all it is not cheap.
However it is just my opinion.

The 1st course in probability is dense and hard to understand.
I read that before. Now I am looking for other books. Will tell u if i find a nice one. =)

    Hi Guys

    Hey everyone,

I am from Malaysia, but now studying in US. Don't use Actex or ASM for P, try to get Guo's manual, his manual is the closest to what you can get in the real exam question. Good luck!

    Regards,
    Victor
