Now I have even more motivation to get these tests under my belt. It appears that by suffering through these actuarial exams I will be eliminating some of the requirements towards a CERA designation. That's great!

To climb that ladder of more responsibility, higher position, and more pay $. Something to work on after passing a few actuarial exams and getting your foot in the door.

Most credentialed actuaries aren't pursuing this, however. It's likely to initially be something that chief actuaries are grandfathered into and younger actuaries get by exam, leaving the rest of us forced to pick up exams again after years of being "done". So get it while it's easy.
