Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Economics, Actuarial Science, or related degree, with a strong academic record (3.0 or higher cumulative GPA).
  • You have passion for learning and interest in pursuing actuarial designations.
  • You demonstrate proven leadership skills, with experience in a student organization, academic project, or community service organization.
  • You possess strong quantitative and analytical skills.
  • You possess strong written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • A passing score on at least 2 SOA exams.

You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Perform actuarial valuations for defined benefit and cash balance plans under the guidance of a senior actuary.
  • Perform non-discrimination testing for qualified plans including Cash Balance, Defined Benefit, and 401(k) Profit Sharing plans. 
  • Prepare PBGC filings and notices.
  • Prepare FASB reports.
  • Calculate and prepare distributions for terminated employees.
  • Prepare government form filings such as IRS Form 5500 & Schedule SB.
  • Prepare plan termination filings with IRS and PBGC.
  • Work directly with clients to advise on funding and IRS compliance issues.
  • Ability to work in an energized, fast-paced environment.
  • Continue to pass actuarial exams in pursuit of an ASA and EA designation.

Additional Preferred Skills:

  • 0-3 years’ experience in the pension industry.
  • Experience in Excel, Word, Access, and Outlook.
  • Experience in ASC software.
