Description
DescriptionAs a Global Actuarial Associate Manager, you will work as part of a team to provide consulting advice and services to multinational companies concerning retirement as well as broader HR benefits and compensation issues for their operations globally. You will serve as a key resource for consultants in charge of engagements by performing many intricate aspects of their client work. As you grow and gain more expertise, you will become a key contact for the client and will begin taking on a larger project manager role within the team.
The Role
- Serve as the project manager and main liaison to the consultant which includes creating project plans, monitoring progress to deadlines and budget, ensuring appropriate and effective communication among team members and the client, increase efficiency within client teams by identifying ways to improve processes, etc.
- Serve as a resource and liaise effectively with colleagues and clients regarding data collection, analyses, and project execution required for:
- accounting for pension and other retirement benefit costs
- actuarial valuations
- retirement plan benefit calculations and statements
- Complete analyses required for special projects including mergers and acquisitions, benefit plan strategy and design, plan management and governance strategy, and global financing and funding policies.
- Prepare the first draft of deliverables for review by the consultant.
- Meet chargeable hours targets.
- Contribute to sales and marketing efforts by drafting proposals and responding to RFPs.
Qualifications
The Requirement
- 3+ years of experience performing actuarial valuation work in a client service-oriented environment with corporate defined benefit and/or group health plans
- Experience working on global HR benefit programs; alternatively, experience working on domestic benefits or compensation programs and a demonstrated interest in international issues
- Flexibility and proven ability to diagnose and resolve issues; strong client service orientation including effective project management and communication skills
- Strong analytical and integrative skills including ability to draw conclusions and identify trends from data in a logical, systematic way
- Bachelor's Degree required
- Actuarial exam progress toward ASA credentials, or progress towards equivalent international credentials.
- Experience living and working overseas and foreign language skills preferred but not essential
Compensation and Benefits
Compensation and benefits information for this position is being included in accordance with requirements of the California Equal Pay for Equal Work Act. Please note that the salary range listed relate specifically to roles located in California and that salary ranges for similar positions located in other WTW locations may vary. In addition, salaries may vary for different individuals in the same role based on several factors, including but not limited to individual competencies, education/professional certifications, experience and performance in the role.
Compensation:
The base salary compensation range being offered for this role is $85,000-$110,000 USD per year.
This role is also eligible for an annual short-term incentive bonus.
